Aleksei Kudrin participated in the meeting of INTOSAI Policy, Finance and Administration Committee
On July 17th, 2019 the delegation of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation participated in the meeting of INTOSAI Policy, Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC). The meeting, hosted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office, took place in Washington, D.C. The Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Russia Aleksei Kudrin presented a report during the event.
The Committee's mandate includes ensuring economic efficiency and effectiveness of the INTOSAI activities while staying within the adopted budget and available resources. At the forefront of the XXIII INCOSAI to be held in Moscow (September 23-28, 2019) this PFAC meeting acquired special significance. For the first time in the history of INTOSAI, Russia is going to be its President for a
three-year term.
As the future President of INTOSAI Aleksei Kudrin updated the PFAC members on the preparation process for the upcoming INCOSAI and on the Moscow Declaration development outputs. This document shall identify main priorities in the further development of supreme audit institutions across the world as well as summarize the outcomes of the three years of the organization's work since the latest INCOSAI in Abu Dhabi in 2016.
In his statement Aleksei Kudrin also addressed the development of Memorandum of Understanding between INTOSAI and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The document is going to be signed under the presidency of the Accounts Chamber in INTOSAI.
The delegation of the Accounts Chamber of Russia also discussed with the PFAC members the draft Budget of INTOSAI for 2020-2023, the key activity outcomes of the executive bodies of the organization and its Strategic Plan for 2023-2028.
As a part of his visit, Aleksei Kudrin also held a bilateral meeting with the acting President of INTOSAI, President of the State Audit Institution of the UAE Dr. Harib Al Amimi. The discussion focused on joint decisions regarding the pressing matters of INTOSAI and the transition of INTOSAI leadreship to the Accounts Chamber of Russia at the INCOSAI in Moscow.
