The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation and the INTOSAI Global Survey Committee held their first video conference
On 14 October 2019, the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, representatives of the INTOSAI Development Initiative, regional organizations (EUROSAI, CAROSAI) and the INTOSAI Goal Chairs met for the first time at a video conference to discuss the future of the survey on SAI development across the world.
Another video conference for ASOSAI and OLACEFS representatives took place on 17 October 2019.
They proposed that topics associated with new SAI areas of activities, such as gender equality, information technologies, engagement with the Forum for INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030 should be included in the survey.
During the discussion the participants identified a number of questions that needed additional consideration, for example, task allocation under a project, where and how the survey results should be stored, taking into account the size of the content, and how the results would be published.
A number of SAIs said that they could not disclose information about their activities. A confidentiality clause thus has become one of the central issues in the discussion of the project.
For reference: the INTOSAI Global Survey Committee is responsible for the development of the project. The Committee includes: INTOSAI Chair and Secretariat, the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI, the Secretariat), Secretariats of INTOSAI regional organizations and INTOSAI Goal Chairs. The Accounts Chamber had an opportunity to participate in the work of the Committee in the follow-up to INCOSAI XXIII, when it had become a member of the Committee as INTOSAI Chair.
