SAI Russia Met Iran's Parliamentary Delegation
Galina Izotova, Acting Chair of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, held a meeting with Dr. H. Haji Babaee, Chair of the Program, Budget, and Accounting Commission of the Majlis, the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Opening the meeting, Galina Izotova highlighted the advanced level of bilateral relations between Russia and Iran:
Close and friendly relations between Russia and Iran are actively developing. Today, cooperation with Iran is an important area of Russian Federation’s foreign policy. Our views on the fundamental international problems largely coincide, we share ideas about the importance of forming a multipolar world and ensuring national sovereignty.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues, including the development of parliamentary control and public audit. Galina Izotova told her Iranian colleagues about the role SAI Russia plays in the budget process, the specifics of conducting budget audits as well as building interaction with the Parliament and law enforcement agencies. The development of the states against the backdrop of sanctions pressure has become a separate item on the agenda.
Iran is a great showcase of a successful country development under the sanctions pressure through active implementation of initiatives to restructure the national economy and ensure import substitution,
Galina Izotova emphasized.
Special attention at the event was paid to the cooperation of the Accounts Chamber of Russia with the Supreme Audit Court of Iran. The parties outlined specific steps to further develop cooperation between the control agencies of the two countries.
