The delegation of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation headed by the Acting Chair Ms. Galina Izotova took part in the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

At the invitation of the Accounts Chamber, representatives of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Supreme Audit Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Central Organization of Financial Control of the Syrian Arab Republic as well as 13 regional audit institutions of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in the SPIEF.

On June 15 the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation held two sessions at SPIEF-2023 – Global Financial Risks: New Challenges for External Audits and Investing in Cities: Measuring Effectiveness.

On June 14, a joint meeting of the Board of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Board of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus was held at the Mariinsky Palace. The meeting focused on the Opinion of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation and the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus on the Union State Council of Ministers' report on the Union State budget execution for 2022.

The parties signed an agreement on conducting a parallel audit of the implementation of the Union State scientific and technical programme “Development, modernisation and harmonisation of regulatory, organisational, methodological and hardware and software support for the intended use of the Earth remote sensing space systems of Russia and Belarus” in 2023.

SAIs Russia and Belarus also held a round table on the role of supreme audit institutions in improving public audit efficiency. The representatives of regional audit institutions also took part in the event.

Ms. Galina Izotova held bilateral meetings with the Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Vasily Gerasimov, the Chairman of the Central Organization of Financial Control of the Syrian Arab Republic Mr. Mohamad Barek, and the Vice-President of the Supreme Audit Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Mohsen Borzou Zadeh Zavareh.

The parties discussed cooperation within INTOSAI and its Working Groups as well as the prospects for exchanging experiences on issues of mutual interest. The Agreement on Cooperation between the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Central Organization of Financial Control of the Syrian Arab Republic was signed.
