PFAC Technical Meeting

On April 8, 2025, a technical meeting of the INTOSAI Policy, Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC) was held online under the leadership of SAI Saudi Arabia. Participants discussed the outcomes and key areas of activities of the General Secretariat, Goal Committees, and other INTOSAI bodies for 2024–2025.

The Accountability State Authority of Egypt, in cooperation with the INTOSAI General Secretariat, continues preparations for the XXV INTOSAI Congress, which will be held on 27–31 October 2025 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The main themes of the Congress are:

  • The Role of SAIs in Auditing Central Banks and Government Activities during Financial and Economic Crises (led by the SAI USA)
  • Using Artificial Intelligence Technology in Auditing (led by the SAI Egypt)

A top priority for INTOSAI remains the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan for the INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements (IFPP) 2023–2028. With the support of Goal Committees, dedicated Project Teams were established to coordinate key initiatives and to develop Scoping Papers.

The Committees representatives announced the dates and venues of the upcoming meetings:

  • Professional Standards Committee (PSC) Steering Committee – 26–27 June 2025, Luxembourg
  • Capacity Building Committee (CBC) –5–6 June 2025, London, United Kingdom
  • Knowledge Sharing Committee (KSC) Steering Committee –12 September 2025, Hyderabad, India
  • Policy, Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC) –29 September 2025, Washington, D.C., United States

SAI Brazil reported on the results of the webinars on strategic foresight, held on 18–19 March 2025 under the auspices of the INTOSAI Supervisory Committee on Emerging Issues (SCEI). Participants were presented with a Report on global trends expected to shape the work of SAIs over the next 15 years.

The International Journal of Government Auditing (IJGA) continues to highlight key developments and best practices in the global audit community. The 2025 issues will focus on auditing climate change measures, infrastructure projects, public financial management, and SAI independence.
