BRICS SAIs Seminar on Infrastructure Project Auditing
On November 6, 2025, the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation took part in the experience-sharing seminar of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the BRICS countries on "High-risk infrastructure audits."
The event was organised by the Office of the Auditor General of the Republic of South Africa in the framework of the 2025–2026 BRICS SAIs Work Plan.
Ms. Natalia Trunova, Auditor, Member of the Board of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, presented the SAI Russia’s experience in auditing concession agreements in the housing and utilities sector. The speaker focused on analyzing the implementation of activities under concession agreements. In her speech, Ms. Trunova analyzed problematic issues in the implementation of concessions in the housing and utilities sector.
Colleagues from SAIs Brazil, India, China, South Africa, UAE, and Indonesia also shared their experiences; representatives of SAIs Egypt and Iran took part in the seminar as audience members.
Following the discussion, participants from the BRICS SAIs noted the similarities in the problems that auditors identify during their audits of infrastructure projects and discussed ways to improve the efficiency of public auditing in this area. They also confirmed their commitment to sharing experiences within BRICS.
