According to the UN Secretary-General, only 15% of the SDGs are on track and will be achieved by 2030.

The global economy has faced multiple crises, limiting the ability of developing countries to invest in sustainable development and combat climate change.

As a result, more than 724 million people live in extreme poverty, and 2.5 billion people lack drinking water. The shortage of sustainable financing amounts to more than $3 trillion per year, while the public debt of developing countries has exceeded $26.7 trillion.

Among the key problems is the uneven distribution of international financing: more than 66% of special drawing rights are directed to developed countries. The UN Secretary-General calls for an increase in the volume of available long-term financing for countries in need by at least $500 billion per year.
