Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct

Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct

In the context of 2023 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting the updated Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct were presented.

The document is a universally recognized global standard for corporate policy and is widely used in business and government practice. The purpose of the document is to increase the contribution of business to sustainable development and reduce the negative impact of economic activity on the environment.

Key changes include:

  • ensuring compliance of corporate policy with national obligations in the field of environmental protection and biodiversity;
  • ensuring that lobbying activities carried out by businesses are in line with the Guiding Principles;
  • the need for due diligence in the development, sale, licensing, trade and use of technology, including the collection and use of data;
  • updated guidance on responsible business conduct disclosures.
