AR6 Synthesis Report Climate Change 2023

AR6 Synthesis Report Climate Change 2023

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) presented the sixth assessment report on combating global warming.

According to experts, the uncontrolled burning of fossil fuels, as well as the uneven and unsustainable use of resources, have led to global warming by 1.1 degrees, provoked more frequent and intense extreme weather events in all regions of the world. The 2020s will be humanity's "last chance" to keep global warming within 1.5 degrees Celsius.

The authors call for taking all necessary measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt the planet to anthropogenic climate change. From their point of view, the solution to the problem of global warming lies in "climate resilient development": saving about 30-50% of the earth's land, fresh water and ocean "will help ensure the health of the planet.
