On November 8, 2023 the regular meeting of ARABOSAI Committee on Sustainable Development Goals was held in online mode.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the interaction of SAIs and mechanisms to support governments in achieving SDGs.

The Committee was attended by representatives of SAI Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia. The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation participated in the event as a guest.

Mr. Anton Kosyanenko, Director of the Department of Economic Development Audit of the Accounts Chamber, spoke about the main results of the INTOSAI Working Group on SDGs and KSDI, including the development of the Practical guidance on SDGs audit at the regional level, the Guidance on Audit of the Reliability of Macroeconomic Forecasts and the Guidance on ESG Audit.

Mr. Timur Makhmutov, Director of the Department for International and Regional Cooperation of the Accounts Chamber, spoke about the functionality and opportunities of the Digital University for the INTOSAI community (U-INTOSAI) to share experience and develop SDG competencies of SAIs’ employees.

Based on the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialog on potential areas of interaction between the ARABOSAI SDG Committee and the INTOSAI Working Group on SDGs and KSDI.
