Kick-Off Meeting of the ASOSAI Special Committee on Establishing the Working Group on Information Technology Audit and Data Analytics
In the 58th ASOSAI Governing Board meeting that was held virtually on 31 May 2022, SAI India presented a proposal on forming a new working group within ASOSAI related to information technology audit and data analytics.
On July 27, ASOSAI Special Committee on Establishing the Working Group on Information Technology Audit and Data Analytics (WGITADA) held an online kick-off meeting сhaired by SAI India. The main assignment of the Special Committee is to conduct, compile and evaluate the feasibility of initiating WGITADA. The results of the research are to be reported at the 59th ASOSAI Governing Board meeting in 2023.
At the event, the members of the Special Committee – the SAIs of China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Oman, Philippines, Russia, Thailand and Turkey – discussed the results of the Feasibility Study on establishing a new group on IT Audit and Big Data. Having highlighted in the course of the survey the possible risks of establishing WGITADA, the participants of the event put forward a number of proposals to mitigate them.
Members of the Special Committee agreed with consensus on the draft Terms of Reference and unanimously supported the Working Group establishment initiative.
