BRICS SAIs Discuss Digital Transformation and Share Experience in Leveraging Big Data Analytics in Auditing
On August 27, 2025, the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of the BRICS countries held an experience-sharing online-seminar on “Digital Transformation and Big Data Analytics in Auditing”.
The event was organized by the UAE Accountability Authority in the framework of the 2025–2026 BRICS SAIs Work Plan.
SAIs Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa and the UAE shared their experience in leveraging big data for public sector audits and discussed strengthening of digital audit infrastructure and institutional readiness as well as the SAIs’ role in shaping digital governance and data-driven decision-making. The speakers emphasized the importance of capacity building and partnership development for the formation of digital audit.
Mr. Igor Kalganov, Assistant to the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, and Ms. Aida Ibragimova, Chief Consultant of the Financial Audit Department, presented the experience of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation in leveraging big data for public sector audits.
The SAIs participants noted the effectiveness of the national experience presented in the seminar and the importance of the event for the dissemination of successful practices of supreme audit institutions within the framework of the BRICS SAIs format.
