Three Policy Briefs under "Our Common Agenda" – Reports of the UN Secretary-General
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, A. Guterres, speaking at the UN Headquarters in New York, presented three analytical reports on priority topics on the international agenda:
reforms of the international financial system, climate change, and digital development.
The UN estimates that the G7 countries with a population of 772 million received $280 billion in special drawing rights (SDRs), while the least developed countries with a population of 1.1 billion received $8.22 billion. USA. A. Guterres called on the international community to take urgent measures to reduce the debt dependence of developing countries, reform the IMF, and revise the rules for allocating special drawing rights. In addition, he stressed the limited representativeness of such an indicator of economic development as GDP. GDP is a general indicator that does not reflect the problems of poverty, climate change, environmental security and the digital divide. To reduce digital risks and ensure equal access to advanced technologies, A. Guterres develop uniform rules of conduct for all in the digital environment, determine the ways and principles of using information technologies for the benefit of mankind.
