Technology and Wage Share of Older Workers
Experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) published a report on the impact of technological development on the wages of older workers.
With many Asian countries facing rapid population aging on the one hand and rapid development and adoption of new technologies on the other hand, many experts believe that this will lead to a gradual decline in the income of older workers. At the same time, according to the ADB study, recent technological advances, in particular the development of information technology, software, automation and robotics, do not have a serious negative impact on the incomes of older workers.
Among the main reasons, the Bank's experts highlight the greater openness of a significant part of older employees to the study and implementation of new technologies than is commonly believed.
