Joining Forces for Gender Equality What is Holding us Back?

All OECD countries need to step up their efforts to empower women, according to a new report, Joining Forces for Gender Equality: What's Holding Us Back?

Despite a higher average level of education, they still face limitations in their professional development. Thus, 60% of civil servants are women, while they occupy less than 40% of leadership positions.

As the authors note, narrowing the gaps in labor force participation and working hours could lead to an increase in GDP in OECD countries by an average of 9.2% by 2060, which would increase average annual economic growth by about 0.23%.
