UN Secretary-General A. Guterres presented a new analytical report on the fight against disinformation and aggression in the digital environment.

According to him, digital platforms contribute to increasing the availability of information, but at the same time they can be used as a tool of violence. According to a UN survey conducted in 142 countries, 59% of regular Internet and social media users are concerned about the spread of disinformation.

A. Guterres called for increased international cooperation to create a safer, more inclusive and human rights-based digital space.

The Secretary General took the initiative to develop a Code of Ethical Conduct on digital platforms.
